Want to move to greener pastures in the form of a Greener Car? Then take your pick. Compiled by Derek Black from Belfast Telegraph while visiting Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders test day, is a list of relatively greener cars.



Diesel Cars:



Daihatsu’s Charade is the most economical and lowest polluting petrol five-door. Its CO2 emission is just 114 g/km and costs £5,960.



Suzuki’s £9,750 Swift. With an emission figure of 122 g/km.



Fiat’s Grande Punto which can manage 123 g/km and costs £8,495.



The Toyota Yaris 1.4 D-4D that emits just 119 g/km. and costs £10, 795.





Bio-fuel cars:



Ford’s Focus Flexi Fuel which costs around £14K.



Saab’s 9-5 Biopower that costs £21,651.





Then there are the hybrid cars:



The Honda Civic Hybrid emits just 109g/km. It costs £16,300.



Toyota’s Lexus GS 450h. It emits 186 g/km of CO2. You pay for it £43,900.



BMW’s 520d emits 158 g/km. It costs from £27,925.
