There are hundreds and thousands of people and companies that are trying to develop a fuel that can be used when the petroleum reserves are a thing of the past.
Engineuity has commented that they are developing an engine that can produce its own fuel that is Hydrogen. This new development may seem weird at first but believe me that there is serious science involved in the technology.
The method makes use of metals such as magnesium and aluminum to create hydrogen and steam. This method will incorporate a long metal coil that will be inserted into a metal-steam combustor and the process will separate hydrogen from the water molecules. Oxygen in the combusting chamber will react with the metals forming the corresponding oxide and this will release hydrogen that can power the car and steam that will act as a juice for the car. The cars will be emission free and the only by product will be steam.
According to the company the refueling process will be as simple as it is today and there will not be a major change in the cost of running the car. They also claim that they will release a fully developed prototype in another three years.
That technology will cut some cost of gasoline I guess...!
