A view of the futuristic military land systems was by The Hagglunds AB at the recent Eurosatory military equipment exhibition in Paris. The SEP is a complete reconfigurable electrical vehicle that comes with interchangeable, specialized mission modules like towing and ambulance, rocket launcher, command centre.
Most noteworthy is its option of either wheeled or tracked drives, both of which are electrically driven. In addition to being electrically powered, the vehicle in stealth mode with the help of the battery can function in complete silence. Besides, it is more refined than the traditional diesel power as the electrical drive and electrical gearbox enable a number of new capabilities. For example, with the 6X6 configuration, the six wheels can be controlled individually which enables the vehicle to turn on the spot.
SEP has a low total weight of just 17 tonnes and its most useful feature could be its ability to make a pivot turn around its own axis.
