Plug-ins, unlike regular hybrids, to achieve maximum output have to be plugged in an electric outlet which drastically reduces the car’s dependence on gasoline power to charge the batteries.
GM spokesman Brian Corbett shares:
We are always looking at ways to provide fuel efficiency to our customers, and energy independence to the United States. Obviously, a plug-in hybrid is something that would definitely be on our radar screen, something we could consider for the future. But I’m not saying we’re going to do one or the other.
Hopefully, with this GM will be able to regain its popularity that had terribly fallen after recalling its Electric car, EV1.
