GM’s Chevy Sequel has now become the very first electrically-driven hydrogen vehicle to move 300 miles on just one tank of hydrogen, and that too on public roads producing zero emissions.

The long 300-mile ride started at General Motors’ Fuel Cell Activity Center in Honeoye Falls and went all through the state of New York. The vehicle was first exhibited at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in 2005 while the first drive-ready model hit last fall.

The Sequel also holds the title of world’s fist vehicle to productively assimilate a hydrogen fuel-cell propulsion system with the state-of-art technologies such as steer-and brake-by-wire controls, wheel hub motors, and lithium-ion batteries.
