Japan’s third largest car maker Honda has claimed that the company will be able to produce Fuel-cells cars by 2018.

The company is also planning to release a new but pricy model of new hydrogen powered fuel-cell car in Japan and the United States in 2008. They have also stated that after this release the technology will be advanced enough so that it can be used to mass produce cars in the next 10 years.

Many of the world’s biggest car makers are working on fuel cell cars. The main advantage of using these cars is that they drastically cut emissions and are more eco-friendly than the gasoline powered cars.

These cars are currently pricy with their average cost somewhere around $840,000.

Fuel-cells produce electricity by a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen and the only byproduct of the reaction is water.

Researchers have commented that the only problem they are facing is to lower the cost of hydrogen and also improve the storage of the fuel.
