The news is now confirmed that, Nissan will have an independently developed hybrid car by 2010. There new compact hybrid models will be powered by a Lithium-ion Battery appertaining to their larger capacity and the ability to be recharged quicker than nickel-hydrogen batteries.

Nissan does produce a hybrid vehicle, The Nissan Altima Hybrid but it uses Toyota’s technology. Toyota will allow Nissan to continue producing the Altima, while Nissan see this as an opportunity to understand the marketing and production tact’s of and for hybrids.

Nissan has been hesitant in joining the Hybrid cue because of smaller marketing shares and lower returns but this information makes us understand that Nissan has bid Adieu to its old reluctant policy and a new wave is all set to take Nissan to a higher level.
