Ford Motor Co., which is currently battling a competition from Toyota in U.S, has one more problem that is tarnishing its image-that too, in an area in which it prides itself for still making profits. According to fresh news, Ford yesterday recalled 102,000 vehicles manufactured in Brazil.

The measure was taken after it was discovered the auxiliary gas tanks have a high risk of cracking and leaking. The auxiliary gas tank boosts the car to start up faster during cold weather. The affected cars are the Fiesta subcompact and EcoSport mini-SUV.
Wrong place, wrong time - this effectively sums up the problem Ford is going through, as Brazil-made FFV boosts Ford image, and such defects spotted at this time when it is facing a massive downtrend in U.S. would clearly dispel Ford’s standing as a major carmaker.
