
General Motors has announced the starting price tag of $22,695 for the 2007 Aura Green Line hybrid thereby making it the lowest-priced hybrid on the market for 2007. Moreover, it has also made the grades for $1,300 tax credit.
Saturn General Manager Jill Lajdziak said:
The Aura Green Line is a great value among the hybrids in the mid-size car segment. With a starting sticker price over $2,000 less than any mid-sized hybrid sedan and a $1,300 tax credit, it makes true hybrid fuel savings available to more people than ever before.
The hybrid Aura mates a 2.4L engine to an electric motor to offer 164 HP and 159 lb.-ft. of torque with 28 mpg city and 35 mpg highway fuel economy rating.
The 2007 Aura Green Line hybrids have started coming to the Saturn retail facilities.

Well, the Aura hybrid is $100 less than the Prius, but the Prius save enough in gas in just a year to pay that difference.
Oops! Toyota recently announced a price reduction on the Prius, it is now in the same price range. Looks like the Saturn Aura won’t cut into Prius sales anytime soon...
