I came across the Tesla Roadster on Ed’s Blog and the Guy totally despises Green or Electric Cars dubbing them as something horrific. He mentions green cars do not sound like a true car and they lack they ‘Go’ Factor. His extremism is to the extent where he defines them as the ugliest thing’s he has ever seen.
I agree to Ed on the fact that green cars do lack the originality ‘in terms of driving feel’ when compared to a conventional gasoline driven sedan. You can never get that powerful sound with the Hybrid ones. One cannot really condemn Ed if you take into consideration that he says, it is mere ‘Consumerism’ which forces us to go for the Hybrid Versions, other than that there is nothing exciting about them.
Finally, an electric car has succeeded in changing Ed’s perception, which is the Roadster from Telsa Motors. What makes this car earn a high opinion in Ed’s or anybody else’s acuity is the fact that in spite of being an electric car it gives you that usual car feel.
The Tesla Roadster sprints from 0-60 in 4 seconds which is stunning, bearing in mind that it is an electric car. The Roadster has a top speed of 130, perhaps the only flaw where it looses to a genuine sports car. However, there is something else that seems to compensate for the 130 top speed blemish and that is its whopping 135 mpg mileage.
The Roadster has a per charge range of 250 miles and takes three and a half hours to fill-up . The lowest variant is priced at $ 92,000, which if outfitted with features viz. SatNav, Blue tooth phone incorporation, XM Satellite Radio can accrue upto $1, 00,000.
I totally agree with you Ed, if you really want to drive an electric Vehicle that does not create a pine for conventional gas-guzzlers, Tesla Roadster is the only viable choice!
